A thrifty post for you all thrifters.

If you’re like me, you do a lot of google searching in the day. So I decided to earn some money doing it. I signed up at swagbucks.com (very little info about me required, which I like), and use their google/ask-powered search bar when I’m searching on the web. I make a few swagbucks a day doing this, and with 45 swagbucks, I can get a $5 amazon card.

Not much, it seems. But hear me out. That adds up to a couple of Christmas presents paid for. And here’s the bigger deal: when you get a friend to sign up, all their points become your points! You can get points wayyyyyy faster this way.

***a note one month later: I won almost 90 swagbucks my first month***

So, anyone interested in signing up with me? CLICK ON THE BANNER BELOW and I’ll get those matched points, and you’ll start getting points of your own.

If you haven’t seen the above movie, do yourself the favor. We were watching an episode of Psych last night, and Sean mentioned it in one of his characteristically witty repartees. I didn’t think anyone besides the Mission and Byrnes families even knew this gem existed.

It’s been a pretty Russian themed weekend. First, I dove into Anna Karenina. That Tolstoy. Not a bad writer.

Then we went to the Metropolitan Opera to see Eugene Onegin, Tchaikovsky’s tragic opera set in rural Russia and St. Petersburg. Bill bought us tickets for my Christmas present. It was amazing, especially having grown up listening to NPR’s Saturday Met broadcasts. The voices were surreal in person, and I couldn’t stop smiling. I’m going to try to imitate Tatiana as I sing in worship team today at church. That should go over well.

And then, even Emily Gilmore was planning a Russian-themed dinner party when we switched over to DVDs last night.
